  • 모든 Syslog 메세지는 제일 앞부분에 priority값을 포함하고 있습니다. priority 값은 0부터 191까지를 그 범위로 하며, Facility값과 Level값을 가지고 계산하여 만듭니다. priority값은 "<>"구분자 안에 들어있습니다.
    • <PRI>HEADER MESSAGE
    • priority 값은 앞서 설명한 것처럼 0부터 191까지 값을 가지되 3자리를 채우기 위한 0같은 값이 들어가지는 않습니다.

  • priority 값은 다음과 같이 계산을 하게 됩니다.
    • Priority = Facility * 8 + Level
